Techno, House, Electronic
The Shed Residents began in a literal shed in a Dublin back garden during the COVID-19 pandemic. What started as three childhood friends, Alec Tolentino, Rudy O'Leary, and Steven McCabe, spinning tracks to keep the night going after clubbing evolved into one of Dublin's most innovative collectives.
The trio met at school and discovered Dublin's nightlife together, transitioning from mainstream Harcourt Street clubs to underground techno rooms. Their interrailing trip to European festivals, particularly Melt Festival in Germany, ignited a passion that would transform their hobby into a movement.
The Shed Residents explicitly reject the 'techno snobbery' pervasive in the scene. Their satirical approach to marketing, parodying GQ, Time Magazine, and Pitchfork, sets them apart from the often self-serious world of electronic music.
It's just all about sticking together, it's about having everyone's back and that's what will bring you success.
