Dublin, Ireland · Founded October 2004
House, Techno, Italian Club Sound
The Italian Factory was created in October 2004 by three friends, Marino Rispo, Gio Paolella, and Montana, who moved from Italy to Dublin in the late '90s seeking new opportunities. Marino was a DJ in Italy and saw huge potential in Dublin's unbelievable vibe.
Their first party at Mundo was too big, dispersing the crowd. Their second event at Spirit between Christmas and New Year's packed 500 people when the venue expected only 100. From there, everything took off.
The Italian Factory proved that Dublin could support midweek parties and that bringing international talent while building a local community could create something legendary. The recession eventually hit hard, people left, jobs were lost, and the economy crumbled. Their final party featured Uto Karem with only 70 people attending.
We had a real brand it was amazing!
